“I started timetrialling in June 2008 at the age of 44. For the first couple of years my times steadily improved, some of these gains I’m sure coming from better more aero equipment. Despite the hours of training that I was doing, improvements were becoming harder to achieve and my performances were starting to plateau. I was also struggling to understand what I needed to do to improve further.

In October 2013 I started being coached by John.

At this point my PB’s were;

10 – 20:04
25 – 50:22
30 – 1:03:41
50 – 1:47:08
100 – 3:55:15
12HR – 264:84

My fastest average speed in the BBAR was 24.163 in 2011.

Since being coached by John my power and race performances have improved way more than I could ever of expected.
At the end of the 2016 season my PB’s are;

10 – 18:54
25 – 50:22
30 – 1:00:23
50 – 1:42:03
100 – 3:42:03
12HR – 278.39

In both 2014 and 2015 I finished 8th in the BBAR with average speeds of 25.902 and 26.261.

I’ve found John very approachable and easily contactable at all times. On occasions when I’ve fallen ill or if work/family issues have meant I cannot train or things need to change then he’s been very supportive and amended my training programme as required on a daily basis.

My training is clear to follow and I receive feedback at the end of each week, and from races during the season.

I can’t recommend John highly enough.”
